In the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 9th, GMU began experiencing issues at our Water Treatment Plant. 

At this time, we are working to communicate with the appropriate entities and vendors to try to identify & correct the issue. 

We are asking all customers to begin water conservation measures immediately.  The water in the system is perfectly safe to consume but without a remedy, we will likely run out of treated water to send to town at some point today.  While we would like to hope that we will not reach that critical point, we do feel it is important to share the possibility with our customers as we ask for immediate water conservation. 

We will update GMU’s Facebook and website as often as needed throughout the day.  Unfortunately, the office is unoccupied today so please do not call for an update as there will be no one to answer the phone.
